About Jaipur


Jaipur, the capital and largest city of Rajasthan is an epitome of magnificence and vibrancy. The city was established in 1727 by Sawai Jaisingh II and is rich in heritage, culture and architecture. The graceful architecture of the City that runs across in pink colour has earned Jaipur the title of "Pink City". With splendid fortresses, majestic palaces, tranquil temples and beautiful havelis; Jaipur turns out to be an ideal tourist destination and is a royal treat for the visitors all over the world. Jaipur is also well known for its musicians, artisans and craftsmen. Jaipur is crowded by people for shopping of famous handicrafts, silver and gold jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones, beads etc like items.

Famous touristic and extensively visited places in Jaipur are Hawa Mahal (the palace of winds), Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar (the largest observatory), City Palace (the residence of erstwhile Maharaja of Jaipur), Nahargarh Fort (the hunting residence of erstwhile Maharajas), Jaigarh Fort (the artillery storehouse of Rajput Rulers), Jal Mahal (the water palace), Rambagh Palace (the residence of Maharaja of Jaipur), Albert Hall Museum, Govind Dev Temple, Galtaji Temple, Birla Temple, Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple, Ram Niwas Garden, Central Park etc.
